The puppies are doing well and getting very playful.  I love to go feed them in the morning and they all are trying to get in my arms or chew on my hands!  They are so much fun!

They have been learning how to use the ramp to walk out of their house and into the fenced yard area but a few were not so quick to learn how to walk back up the ramp!  Several nights ago, I was half-awakened by the sound of a puppy crying outside.  As I was debating with myself, in a half-asleep state of mind, whether or not to go see what was wrong (assuming it was that troublesome ramp!), I heard my mother going outside.  A moment later I heard her calling for Ruger and next thing I knew, that dog was running into my bedroom!

Apparently she slipped out of the gate when Mama opened it and ran to the front door of our house where she discovered that the pet door was open … and beelined for my bedroom!  So that settled the debate.  I had to get up and take her back outside – since she doesn’t always obey the other people if I’m around.  Apparently it’s a family thing … her grandmother was our first Lab and the only person who could make her obey was my father!  She was generally a great dog but there were those few times when she stubbornly wanted her way and none of us, except him, could make her mind!  Meanwhile, Mama had helped the noisy puppy up the ramp but now that Ruger was up and about, all of the puppies decided to come down the ramp … and then back up because Ruger chose to go inside!  Follow the leader, you know.

So Mama and I went back to bed, hoping that all of the puppies that chose to come down the ramp again in the wee hours of the morning, would at least figure out how to go back up it too!

By the way, all of them are now reserved.

They love to snuggle each other!IMG_4570

Howling?  Ruger howls … so does Golani!  They often get all the dogs going at the same time … usually late at night or early in the morning!Cara (3)

I love his face!  It reminds me a lot of his older brother Sheriff – now Hampton – I believe there is a picture of him on the past puppies page.Colton (1)

My sister was unable to take his pictures yesterday with all the rest, and we were gone all day today, so it was nearly dark when she took these this evening … which is why he got some inside photos 🙂Charlie (1)
