Prince and Princess – 4 Weeks!

I think all of our puppies are adorable but Prince here is such a cutie!  He is still available and looking for his forever home so if you would like this little fellow to join your family, please let me know!

He has a cute little cowlick on his head!  I don’t expect it to last forever though … most of the puppies that have cowlicks lose them as they mature.IMG_0548

I asked Abigail to take a few pictures of Princess too (even though she is not available because I’m keeping her here!!) but she said she wasn’t cooperating well!IMG_0556

Big sister kisses!IMG_0553

Did you clean behind your ears? 😉IMG_0554

I love these two!! IMG_0558

You mentioned you are keeping Princess for breeding. That would mean she is not a F-1 bitch. I was under the impression that all of your parent dogs were all F1 and registered with the AKC. Where am I going wrong?
Thanks. Your puppys are absolutely beautiful.

Hi Bill, F1 is actually the term used for the designer breed puppy that has purebred parents. Up until a few months ago, all of our Beaglier puppies were F1 because they had full-blooded registered Cavalier fathers and full-blooded registered Beagle mothers. More recently we raised a Beaglier female (Lizzie), bred her to a Cavalier and had a litter of F1b puppies a couple months ago. They were so beautiful and had great temperaments so we hope to expand more along these lines in the future, which is why I’m keeping Princess. The majority of our Beaglier puppies are still 50/50 since many people prefer the stronger Beagle features, but for those who prefer the stronger Cavalier features, this will be a great option.

But as far as our Cavachons go (which I believe was the breed you had inquired about), all of them are F1 puppies – Cavalier sire and Bichon dam.

Thank you for your very prompt reply.
Yes, we are interested in a Cavachon sometime in the future. Our 13.5 year old Cavalier is aging more rapidily as time marches on. In researching around the Internet for breeders, Happy Hill Pups seems to have your arms around procedures, policies and practices to produce exellent, healthy puppies. While I understand your logic for moving to the F1b, I would prefer a clear 50/50 mating ratio.
Best wishes for a properous and healthy New Year. We will continue to look forward to your updates on all the puppies in your family.
